Provincial Clergy Tasks Men’s Fellowship On Family Role
The Pastor in Charge of Cross River Province 2, Region 29 of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Joseph Akande has enjoined the menfolks in the Christendom to rise up to their pivotal role in the affairs of their homes and the church in order to curtail the alarming moral decadence bedeviling the society.
Pastor Akande gave the admonition while speaking at a Thanksgiving Service of Redeemer’s Men Fellowship (RMF), Jesus Sanctuary Parish, Atekong Drive, State Housing Estate, Calabar, to round up the 2023 RMF Convention, themed "Man: The Image of God."
He stated that man was crafted in the image of God and saddled with clearly defined role of reflecting the attributes of God which was intended to draw humanity back to the Almighty God, beginning from the home which is rightly regarded as the backbone of the society.
The clergy contended that the abdication of the divine mandate by parents, especially fathers, in pursuit of material acquisition, has given rise to a generation without the fear of God nor regard for the sanctity of human lives.
While commending the executive of the body for the success of the event, Pastor Akande tasked them to sustain the momentum through promotion of interaction and closer ties to foster brotherhood.
Speaking, the President, Redeemer’s Men Fellowship, Region 29, Assistant Pastor (Professor) Patrick Asuquo disclosed that the RMF was conceived in 2014 by the General Overseer of the RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye as a platform to empower married men in the Redeemed Christian Church of God to fulfil their purpose at homes, galvanise them towards active participation in church activities while providing a rallying platform for business interaction to enhance attainment of entrepreneurial potentials.
Professor Asuquo implored every man to accord priority attention to his divine role as the priest, role model and provider of the family, bearing in mind that every father will give account of the stewardship at home to God at the end of time.
In his remark, the Parish President of RMF, Engr. Joshua Madaki (FNSE) expressed appreciation to God for the success of the Convention, noting that the prevailing grace and mercies of God have preserved and kept the group intact despite daunting challenges.
He commended members for their zeal and commitment demonstrated towards the vision of the RMF, attributing the success of the Convention to robust synergy as well as the cohesion inherent in the group.
In his remarks, the Public Relations Officer, PRO, RMF Region 29, Dr. Ededem Essien stated that the Convention is an annual event on the global calendar of the Church meant to afford members ample avenue to appreciate God for His benevolence, renew devotion to the Almighty God while forging closer bonds for common benefits.
Nine members of the group were presented with Awards of Honour for their distinguished roles and sacrificial commitment to the growth of the association. The awardees were Rt Hon. Daniel Asuquo, Hon. Justice Maurice Eneji (rtd) Prof. Martin Meremikwu, Ntufam Lemmy Agbor, Deacon Otu Effiwatt, Mr. Emeka Mbanugo, Victor Akpakpan, James Okabe and Sunday Matthias.
