Newly inaugurated member representing Ogoja state constituency in the Cross River House of Assembly, Hon. Rita Ayim has pledged to ensure bipartisan synergy with stakeholders to guarantee effective representation for her constituents.

According to the lawmaker, "I will work assiduously to initiate or fast track the passage of bills meant to drive the development and social economic advancement of Cross River people in general and my constituents in particular”.

“Our Governor, Senator Bassey Out has assured us that political affiliations ceased the moment elections are over, so we are set to approach the Cross River project as a team bounded by passion to ensure the betterment of our people and the zeal to retrieve our dear state from the present malady, we have found ourselves”

Hon Ayim who was visibly delighted with members of the ruling All Progressives Congress who thronged the venue to grace the occasion said” I am delighted to see my brothers and sisters from the APC who have turned up to grace this event. I feel honoured. This demonstrate our readiness put party politics aside and work as a team to advance the interest of Ogoja. This synergy is my earnest desire”

“Governor Otu has said he is going to be Governor for all Cross Riverians and not for the APC, I will follow suit by being a lawmaker for all Ogoja people and not for my party, PDP”

She called for constructive criticisms whenever she is found wonting stressing that she’s human and not perfect” As a human, I have my flaws, I will like my people to call me to order whenever I err. I am disposed to constructive criticisms and useful suggestions capable of enabling us to achieve our common goal for the good of our people”

In a good will message, Mrs. Ndodeye Bassey who spoke on behalf of Civil Society Organisations, CSO, applauded the people of Ogoja for “the choice of a pragmatic, visionary, and people-oriented leader ever willing to sacrifice her comfort for the betterment of her people".

Also speaking, a former permanent secretary and political leader in the area, Mrs Martina Odom expressed optimism in the capacity of Hon. Rita Ayim to meet the needs and aspirations of her people given her vast experience and disposition to enhanced service delivery.
