OFFICIAL: UNICAL Gets New SUG Leadership

Students of the University of Calabar, Friday, elected new leaders to take the reins of student union governance in the institution.

The Beagle News correspondent reported that the election which commenced at 3pm and ended at exactly 6pm, had all the agents for respective candidates, observers, security personnel, the members of the Calabar University Electoral Commission (CUECO), the Dean of Students Affairs, among other stakeholders.

Beagle News gathered that collation of election results started immediately, with the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Prof. Takim Ojua, giving a press release on the outcome of the election, thereafter.

The Prof. Takim Ojua-led committee presented the results, beginning with the winners of the various positions, as follows:

PRESIDENT

1. Kichi-Akwo Godsgift - 2,105 (Elected)

2. Hope Francis - 1, 936 

3. Abeng Sunday - 1, 277

4. Obi Larry - 1,160 

5. Okam Goodluck - 217 

VICE PRESIDENT

1. Precious Zion - 1, 632 (Elected)

2. Mmayen Effiong - 719
