Nigerian Army Appoints First Female Spokesperson In Over 50 Years

The Nigerian Army is about to have its first ever female spokesperson since it was established over 50 years ago.

The Army has appointed Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anaele as the acting Director, Department of Army Public Relations.

Anaele, will formally take over from Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, on Tuesday April 22 2025.

Anaele, will be the first female senior military officer to be appointed as the spokesperson for the ground troops.
