Nigeria Ranked 140 Out of 180 in Global Corruption Index

According to a latest report by Transparency International (TI), Nigeria is been ranked 140 out of 180 countries world over on the the 2024 corruption perceptions index.
The report which was released on Tuesday had Denmark emerge as the least corrupt country with Finland coming second and Singapore following suit in third position.
South Sudan was ranked the most corrupt in the world followed by Somalia and Venezuela.
In the African category, Cape Verde topped the list of least corrupt countries, although it was ranked number 35 on the list.
It was however observed that no African country made the top 10 most corrupt list as it was dominated by European countries but African nations like Uganda, Madagascar and Cameroon however shared the same position with Nigeria.
The latest ranking sees Africa’s most populous nation move up 5 spots as compared to 2023 ‘s report and 10 spots as compared to 2022’s report.
