NDDC Palliative: C'River Northern Youth Forum Challenge Orok To Publish Names of Beneficiaries, Threatens protest

By Ndifreke BASSEY

Cross River Northern  Youth Forum has faulted Cross River state representative in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Hon Orok Otu Duke, challenging him to publish the list of beneficiaries of Christmas Palliative.

The group said they are used to Orok's antics and subterranean moves to cut corners whenever he is in position of authority, maintaining that they would not hesitate to publish the names and groups in his so-called stakeholders' lost submitted to the NDDC.

In a statement made available to THE BEAGLE NEWS shortly after their meeting at Ogoja council and signed by the group's spokes person,  Ligali Odey,  the Northern youth leaders questioned the non inclusion of their members by in the list neither were they consulted by Orok Otu Duke, threatening mass protest if the north is excluded.

However, the group commended  the vibrant and transparent leadership quality of distinguished Senator of the Southern Senatorial District, Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong Jnr, for quickly exposing the evil and selfish plot of Orok Otu Duke to allegedly divert over N100,000,000 NDDC's Christmas palliative meant for the entire state, reassuring Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong that he's on the right track of justice and equity.

The statement read in part: "We also demand to see the distribution list to ensure a fair and equal share of whatever is meant for Cross River State as no senatorial district or individual is more of Cross River State than the other.

"We have read the screenshot of his WhatsApp messages with a clear intention to destroy the transparent and outstanding reputation of Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong Jnr. and turn the hearts of many against him by falsely claiming the Senator is at loggerheads with His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, our Executive Governor.

"Mr Orok Duke must not forget the fact that youths of the Cross River Northern Senatorial District are very informed, versatile,  educated, civilized, and articulated to quickly sense cheap propaganda and blackmail.

"We have seen the good works of Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong Jnr. and the sweet relationship existing between him and the Governor as such no one can deceive us anymore, not even you Orok Duke."

"We, therefore, have resolved to queue behind Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong's decision that you Orok Duke quickly work together with other major stakeholders of the state, including the youth leaders forum, and reconcile the said list as anything short of that will be met with very strong resistance from us all."
