LG CHAIRMEN BESIEGE IMMIGRATION OFFICE FOR INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT

By: Our Reporter

Ahead of payment of federal government allocation directly to the accounts of the local governments by January ending, some local government chairmen have besieged immigration offices apparently to renew their international passports.

According to a hint by undisclosed sources, such local government bosses have begun plans to travel abroad for personal investments and recreational purposes as typical of Nigerian politicians.

Nigerians are by this privileged report, advised to hold their elected Council bosses accountable to funds earmarked for development and to attract government presence to the grassroot level.

It could be recalled that a week ago, the presidency, through the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, Sunday Dare, had disclosed on Arise News that from the end of January this year, local government areas in the country will receive their money directly from the Federal Allocation Account Committee.
