IWD: Biase Council Chairman's Wife Flags Off 2025 Women Day With 3 Day Skills Acquisition Programme For Young Women ... Gifts Start up Grants.

The Wife of the Chairman, Biase local government area, Mrs Stella Edodi Eyong has flagged off a three day skills acquisition programme as part of activities marking the 2025 International Women Day (IWD) celebration in the area.
The event which took place at the council's headquarters, Akpet Central, Biase was declared open on Thursday March six 2025 and will be rounded up on March eight, the grand finale of this year's International Women Day celebration.
Speaking, Mrs Eyong disclosed that the skills acquisition programme which is designed for young girls between the ages of twenty to twenty - five years would undergo training in various vocations of their choice and will receive financial grants to start up a business.
"The importance of empowering young women through skills acquisition programs cannot be overemphasised, especially, as it fosters economic independence and as well enables beneficiaries to contribute to the overall development of the society. I advise participants here to take advantage of the training sessions to maximize the opportunity for a better future." Stella adviced.
The Biase first lady, defined the
International Women’s Day as a global day dedicated to celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and also a call to action for accelerating gender parity through meaningful activities that unite diverse groups that recognize women's contributions and advocacy for equality.
