n a bid to acquaint members of the 10th Cross River State House of Assembly with contemporary parliamentary procedures and standards of lawmaking, legislators from the State, led by the Speaker, Rt. Hon Elvert Ayambem, joined their Akwa Ibom state counterparts at a Two Day Induction Training Workshop.
The event which was packaged by Konrad Adenauer_m stifung and the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), provided an avenue for both Assemblies to cross-pollinate ideas and promote inter-working relationships that will enhance good governance in their respective states.
The two-day event which commenced on Friday 23rd, through Saturday, 24th June, 2023, held at the Four Point by Sheraton, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom state.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon Speaker, Hon. Elvert, stated that the two-day induction training workshop will further bring lawmakers up to speed with the task ahead of them, quipping that "daunting as the task may be, we are ready for it."
Rt. Hon. Ayambem also appreciated his Akwa Ibom state colleague Speaker, Rt. Hon. Udeme Otong, for the warm reception and hospitality extended to him and his fellow lawmakers.
He also thanked Konrad Adenauer_m stifung and the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), for organizing the all-important event.
