Forum of Past & Present Students' Union leaders hail Otu On Infrastructure.

The Forum of Past and Present Students' Union leaders in Cross River have commended the Governor, Senator Bassey Otu for undertaking massive infrastructural development in the state.
The leader of the Forum, Prof. Francisca Bassey who gave the commendation in a recent statement said that the aggressive pursuit towards addressing the infrastructural decay in the state by the Otu-led administration is a welcome development and was long overdue.

Prof Bassey acknowledged the progress and turn around of key projects like the Obudu Cargo Airport, Tinapa business and leisure resort,Transcorp/metropolitan hotel, Cross River Estate Limited,(CREL) and roads within few months of the administration.
She said Governor Otu's vision in that regards has again opened up Cross River state to the world as a destination for business and liesure.
Bassey said there's no gain saying that Governor Otu has not only given direction but has demonstrated his administration's huge capacity to fix Cross River.
"The lost beauty of the Calabar City with it's lush vegetation, fiona , clean and serene environment has gradually returned," Bassey pointed out that the spate of criminal activities have also dropped drastically and people can now go about their businesses without fear of molestation.
Prof Bassey sued for the cooperation of all and sundry towards building a great state and appealed for the sustenance of programmes and projects so far achieved to place the state in it's proper place in the comity of developing States.
Additionally, Prof. Bassey acknowledged what she described as the current agricultural revolution anchored by the Otu's administration with the acquisition of land for the planting of cocoa and palms, return of the Dansa farms, Oban and the proposed 8 small holders Cocoa scheme to be sited in Akamkpa.
Speaking on the ingenuity of governor Otu in the expansion of government in the face of dwindling financial resources, Bassey lauded the ongoing renovation of government lodges, governor and deputy governor's offices and the introduction of the department of medicine in the University of Cross River state.
She stated that the plan to add additional 5 aircrafts into Cally Air fleet was most welcoming and would further boost the internally generated revenue which has already risen to over N31billion especially when the Obudu Cargo Airport finally takes off.
Bassey noted that the opening up of Ugep and Ogoja as development centres and the establishment of the College of Forestry, Obubra, come October this year and the restoration of the Obudu Ranch Resort are all giant strides that will bring about empowerment, wealth creation and employment for youth and will at the end address restiveness.
Prof Bassey further commended Governor Otu's political sagacity, equally expressed in his determination to restore Cross River State to her rightful place as an oil producing state.
She observed that Governor Bassey Otu's ascension to the office of governor was an act of God stemmed from his genuine fear of God, love for the state and burden towards leading Crossriverians out of the widespread impoverishment.
She enjoined Cross Riverians and residents to give his Excellency maximum support for the actualization of this dream/vision.
