EBONYI: Eziulo-Iyionu-Ezzagu Road To Be Completed Soon, Says Nwifuru

Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has stated that the 23km, Eziluo -Iyionu -Ezzagu road will be completed before the end of this year.

Nwifuru, who gave the assurance during an unscheduled inspection visit to the area, explained that his administration embarked on the project because of its strategic nature and economic benefits to the people.

According to him, "our campaign was anchored on the principle of divine mandate and we believe that our people's charter of needs manifesto will give us what we need in the states.

"We decided to embark on the project not because we have money but because of its economic benefits to the people.

"There's no alternative route and people have suffered here and we will not allow that to continue."

The Governor, who maintained that the road will be on concrete pavement, expressed satisfaction with the quality of work so far and enjoined the contractors to work according to specifications.

Expressing gratitude during the inspection, Chairman of Ishielu local government area, Hon. Obinna Onwe, commended the state government for bringing numerous projects to the council.

He said the project when completed will alleviate the suffering of commuters and users of the road including farmers while transporting their farm produce.
