Ebonyi APC Chairman Wades Into Sen. Eze, Ezza South Council Chairman Political Battle

From Okoh OMAKA (Abakaliki)

The supremacy battle between Senator Ken Eze, representing Ebonyi central zone, and chairman of Ezza South local government area, Mrs. Euphemia Nwali, may have been settled following the intervention of state chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha.

For quite some time, the duo have been engaged in political tussle over the control of party structure, leading to factionalisation of the party in the area.

But worried by the development, Emegha had to wade in and summoned stakeholders' meeting where all of the warring parties aired their grievances.

At the meeting held at party Secretariat in Abakaliki, all agireved members and their supporters agreed to work together for the interest of the party ahead of the pending council poll.

Speaking after the peace meeting, Emegha said as the fayjer of the party he intervened in what appeared to be a supremacy battle between some groups loyal to the Senator representing Ebonyi Central Zone, Engr Ken Eze and another devoted to Mrs. Euphemia Nwali the chairman of the local government.

He said he would not allow any person or group of persons' ulterior motive to disrupt the administration of the state governor, adding “there is no father that will see crisis in his home and he will be happy.

"I will not allow anybody to cause disharmony or outright war under this peaceful administration of our dear Governor, His Excellency, Right Honourable Dr. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.

“There was a misunderstanding between the leaders of our party in various levels. So, I felt that it was necessary for me to intervene.

"It was like family discussions, it was like correcting ourselves, it was like knowing what you are supposed to do, it was like I erred in certain areas and it was like I am sorry”.

On his part, the Senator Eze said he and other bigwigs have agreed to embrace peace and commended the party chairman for wadding into the crisis.

“All we just had here is just family meeting. In family, there are bound to be issues in one way or the other. It takes the wisdom of the father to take charge and call his children to order.

“So, that’s exactly what the leadership of the party has done today through the party chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, being our father and our leader as has called his children and talked to us and everything was resolved amicably.

“You can see the chairman of Ezza South local government, Mrs. Euphemia Nwali, beside me and other leaders here and we are happy. With what we are seeing, there is new breath of life in Ezza South Local Government Area.

“Our supporters are already seeing that there is peace now, there will not be any disagreement between our supporters to warrant discipline. We are going to charge them from this meeting to key into the peace initiative that the party has made”, he stated.

The chairman of Ezza South local government Area, Mrs. Euphemia Nwali, said: "I have accepted the outcome of the meeting and commended the state party chairman for uniting the stakeholders, describing him as a man of peace.

“The state party chairman is a father indeed, he is a man of peace. He has brought peace to us and there is no way we will disobey the party Chairman. Party is supreme, we must abide by what the party says.

“We have a party Chairman who is doing wonderfully well, who are we not to abide by his decision?
