Cross River Set For Comprehensive Audit Of All government Lands, Assets

Cross River state has concluded arrangements to conduct a comprehensive audit of all government lands and assets.
In a press statement signed by
Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Nsa Gill, Governor Bassey Otu to directed the department of Asset Management and Recovery (DAMR) headed by the Special Adviser, Barr. Gilbert Agbor, to
identify and address any encroachments into these properties, with the intent to recover any land or property that have been unlawfully occupied or expropriated.
The statement reads in part: "This is to inform citizens and residents of Cross River State that the Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, has directed the Department of Asset Management and Recovery (DAMR) headed by the Special Adviser, Barr. Gilbert Agbor, to conduct a comprehensive audit of all government lands and assets.
"The purpose of this audit is to identify and address any encroachments into these properties, with the intent to recover any land or property that have been unlawfully occupied or expropriated.
"The audit will cover all state-owned schools, hospitals, lands,agro estates, other farms and assets, focusing on identifying unauthorized use and/or encroachment.
"The audit process will commence immediately.
All are directed to fully co-operate with the Department of Assets Management and Recovery."
Reacting, the Special Adviser, Asset Management and Recovery (DAMR), Barr. Gilbert Agbor, said; "I thank Governor Bassey Otu for trusting in me to handle the recovery of some state assets. I promise to work diligently and deliver on the terms of reference given to me."
