C'River:Public Outcries Greet Passage Of Pencom Bill By 10th Assembly

The passage of the pension bill 2023 by the CRHA yesterday has elicited public out cry in the state and may likely pitch the Cross River State labour and workers against Government.
The state assembly passed the contributory pension scheme bill 2023 in a hurry yesterday allegedly under closed doors to meet the demands of governor Otu .
Labor leadership had earlier In the month rejected the proposal from the executive to lead workers to enroll into the scheme and called on government to instead pay outstanding pensions and gratuities and FG palliative disbursements to the state.
The Beagle news gathered that the state labor leadership has vehemently refused it and have at different fora in the state stated it's opposition to the scheme describing it as fraudulent.
Recall last week when the state representative at a proposed meeting with labour in Transcorp hotel was booed while the National leadership failed to show up from their hotel rooms
Meanwhile ,findings today has revealed that labour leadership led by the state Chairman, Comrade Greg Olayi has been meeting since the wee hours of this morning with a view to tackling the government.
