C'River Gov't Reiterates Ban on “Okada,” Warns Vandals

The Cross River State Government has restated that the ban on the operations of commercial motorcyclists, popularly known as OKADA, in the Calabar Metropolis is still in force.
The State Government via a release from the office of the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Emmanuel Ogbeche frowned at the surreptitious return of OKADA operators within the Calabar Metropolis.
Government has accordingly directed Law enforcement officers to arrest such offenders and have their motorbikes impounded, while the operators are prosecuted.
The release urged all OKADA riders to adhere strictly to this instruction as there are no exceptions to this directive.
In another development, the State Government , alarmed at the activities of vandals has warned that the vandalisation of critical public assets and installations is criminal offence and has accordingly directed the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and other security agencies to checkmate the activities of these vandals and protect critical national and state assets and installations.
