C’River Gov't Inaugurates New Security Outfits, Distributes 30 Vehicles

Cross River State government has launched a new security outfit coded-name ‘Operation Okwok’.
Operation Okwok’ replaces operation "Akpakwu" launched by former Governor Ben Ayade's adminstration.
Unveiling a new security outfit‘Operation Okwok’ which simply means “Honeybee”, at Governor’s Office Complex Calabar on Tuesday, Governor Bassey Otu said the administration is committed to addressing security challenges and fostering a conducive environment for development.
He said the establishment of ‘Okwok’ is a strategic and critical response to all forms of criminality by providing a robust framework for maintaining peace and order.
With the new security outfit, Governor Otu’s administration is laying the foundation for economic growth, social cohesion, and improved quality of life for its citizens.
Otu has severally emphasized that security is a top priority for his administration, recognising that stability is essential for meaningful and sustainable development.
Some stakeholders have applauded the initiative, indicating that the outfit is a pacesetter.
Commending the inititaive, Mr Morphy Adoga, the Special Adviser, Projects/Programs Monitoring and Evaluation, said “This is a great achievement for this administration and commitment in the area of security in the State, it is commendable, kudos to the Governor for such a giant stride."
