C'River ; Gov's Cup Kicks Off November 20
Arrangements are in top gear for this year's edition of Governor's Cup soccer competition for football teams across the 18 local government areas in the state.
According to details emanating from the office of the Scribe of the Cross River State Football Association, Talabi Oke, the draws for the football tournament tagged Sweet Prince Cup has been slated to hold on Wednesday ,8 November ,2023 at the UJ Esuene Stadium while the kick off has been slated for November 20 2023. The grand finale is fixed for December.
Consequently,the 18 Local Government Areas are expected to present teams for the Competition, with 6 slots reserved for private clubs two each from the three Senatorial District of the State.
Accordingly the Technical department of the State Football Association has disclosed that only 4 professional players are allowed for each team, while the other players must come from the grassroots to pave the way to fish out new players from the hinterlands.
The release enjoined Corporate bodies to join hands to support and
partner with the Association, organizers of the Competition, which will climax during the Xmas festivities.
The Association has therefore advised interested bodies to make enquiries at the Football Association Secretariat, UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar.
