CANAAN TABLE TENNIS CLUB STAR HOPE UDOAKA EMERGES NATIONAL CHAMPION

 Hope Udoaka of the Cross River state Canaan Table Tennis club has emerged, the National Women’s Champion in the 10th edition of the ELICRIS National Table Tennis Top 32 Invitational Championship.

Udoaka defeated Sukurat Aiyelebegan 4-2 in the finals to become Winner.of the tournament.

 The Championship which was hosted by the Lagos State Table Tennis Association (LSTTA) in collaboration with the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) and BAA Foundation was held at the Sir Chief Molade Molade Okoya Thomas Hall, Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

Speaking after the finals, the reigning Champion,  Hope Udoaka attributed her success to Almighty God and thanked the Canaan table tennis club for giving her a platform to thrive 

“Canaan Table Tennis club has been my support system right from the beginning, the Club took me in, groomed me and gave me the platform which turned out to be a springboard for me” she said.

 The star player further attributed her victory to the unwavering support and commitment of the Chairman, Canaan Table Tennis Club Calabar, Rt. Hon Orok Duke towards grooming players in Cross River and pushing them up to compete in national and international competitions.

  Reacting to the win, Chairman of Canaan Table Tennis Club, Rt Hon Orok Duke, congratulated Udoaka and hailed her doggedness and determination for success.

He maintained that Udoka’s success is a great achievement which showcases the gallantry and professionalism of the Canaan Table Tennis Club.

The invitational championship which  took place from Sunday, 22nd December 2024 to Tuesday, 24th December 2024 brought together top table tennis talents from across Nigeria.
