C'River First Lady Fulfills Promise, Gifts Wheelchairs, crutches To PLWD

In fulfillment of her promise to people living with disabilities in the State, the Wife of the State Governor, Rev. Mrs. Eyoanwan Itam Bassey Otu has presented 6 wheelchairs and 3 crutches to the Progressives Disability Advocates in response to their demands.
Presenting the wheel chairs and crutches, Rev. Eyoanwan Otu stated that the gesture was part of the commitment made to improve the living conditions of people living with disabilities in the State. She pledged that all their requests would be met as time progresses, informing that part of her objectives as wife of Governor is to put smiles on the faces of people living with disabilities and better their lives.
Also speaking, the Special Adviser - Administration, Office of Wife of Government, Dr. Comfort Oko noted that the wheelchairs and crutches presented to them are to aid their movement, adding that older wheelchairs ought to be changed. She noted that the gesture is part of Her Excellency’s Humanity Beyond Boarders Initiative.
On his part, the Special Assistant, Non-Governmental Organisation, Mr. Jeffery Adamade, inferred that Rev. Eyoanwan Otu has kept her words to provide them with the wheelchairs and crutches in response to their demands, assuring them that if they are patient, other demands of theirs will be met in due time.
In his response, the Director General, Progressives Disability Advocate, Comrade Offiong Okon expressed the association’s gratitude to Rev. Eyoanwan Otu. Describing the event as "remarkable in their lives," he revealed that in less than 2 weeks of making their request to the Governor’s wife, she has graciously provided them with most of their request. He prayed God to bless her richly while expressing hope that other of their requests will come consequently.
