C'River Assembly Reacts To Media Publication, Denies Suspension Of Sitting

The Cross River State House of Assembly has reacted to media publication,"Cross River Assembly members fume over neglect by Otu, Suspend sittings indefinitely."ascribed to a section of the media particularly the Beagle news.
In the reaction from the Press Secretary to the Speaker, Matthew Okache, the Assembly stated that"We want to categorically state that these reports are inaccurate and misleading".
The statement stated that contrary to the claims made in the report in question, the Cross River State House of Assembly hasn't suspended it's plenary sessions.
It further observed that under the current leadership of the Assembly, the house continues to operate smoothly and it's members enjoy a strong relationship with the Governor, His Excellency, Senator Bassey Otu.
According to the statement majority of members travelled to attend the inauguration of the Ministers from Cross River and disclosed that currently some have not returned because they are encountering challenges in booking return tickets to Calabar due to the unavailability of flights.
It stated that "it is important to rely on credible sources of information to avoid misinterpretation and misunderstandings".
The statement assured that the Assembly remains committed to it's legislative duties, serving the best interests of people's Assembly mantra.
The Assembly called on "the public to disregard the misinformation as the Assembly stands united in its dedication to serving the citizens and working in harmony with the executive arm of the government for the betterment of the state"
