C' RIver NULGE Inaugurates New Exco, Promises To Prioritise Members' Welfare

The National Union of Local Government Employees NULGE has inaugurated its new state officers in Cross River State after a successful state council election.
The Exco has been has Comrade Otabe Leko, State President; Comrade Edet Itambu, Deputy State President; Comrade Ngozi Ezike, State Secretary; Comrade Ferdinand Ugbong, State Treasurer; Comrade Godwin Ntamu, State Publicity Secretary and Comrade Williams Agbor, State Young Workers Representative.
Others are Comrade Charles Effiong, State Trustee; Comeade Ransome Ebam, State Trustee; Comrade James Afuro, State Auditor 1; Comrade Maurice Ilok, State Auditor 2; Comrade Ebebe Daniel Udey, State Welfare Officer 1, Comrade Ogbu Ijim Ijim, State Welfare Officer 2 and Comrade Collins Egbam, State Welfare Officer 3.
Performing the inauguration, the Deputy Secretary General of NULGE Comrade Ajewole Ayodele encouraged the new state officers to see themselves as servant leaders and make the welfare of their members their priority.
Responding unbehalf of the new exco, the state president Comrade Otabe Leko thanked the members of the Union for re-electing him as state president as this shows the confidence the members have in him.
He stated that the days of suffering where they stayed for over 34 months without allowances and check-up dues are over as there were almost running the union from their pockets.
The president disclosed that since the inception of the Governor Otu led administration, things have become better with the Governor paying up 100% check-up dues to the union and supporting as much as possible.
While describing the Otu led administration as one which is passionate about worker’s welfare, he thanked the Government for responding to the plight while urging the new exco to live up to expectations as it is no longer going to be business as usual adding that every benefit and outstanding arrears owed every state official shall be paid.
