Bayside Receives NDDC Relief Materials In Calabar

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in its effort to cushion the effects of flooding and other natural disaters has distributed relief materials to Bayside community in Calabar South.

The materials which include Matresses, bags of rice, bags of beans, wheel barrows, fishing nets, shovels, cartons of indomie, pillows, mats, Cartons of tomatoes and other household equipments were distributed in the community.

The state NDDC Commissioner Rt. Hon. Orok Duke who carried out the distribution at Eyamba Square in Bayside said the relief materials were aimed at relieving the effects of the disasters on the people.

He disclosed that NDDC as an interventionist agency is committed to providing succor to communities in the 9 Niger Delta States especially in this time of difficulties.

"The paliatives we have brought today might not be too much but it will atleast go a long way in assisting you.

"The materials are made of both edibles and materials that can be used to earn a living, we encourage you to put them to judicious use while i can assure you that we as an agency will try to assist you as much as we can.

The Calabar South Constituency 1 community liason officer Hon. Bassey Edem Effiwatt who spoke on behalf of the community thanked the state rep for considering them as one of the beneficiaries especially in this time of difficulty.
