At Last Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has at last appointed 38 Special Advisers.
Thoss on the list include Mr Sunday Michael, Okechukwu Madiekwe, Linus Obogo, Bar. Utum Eteng, Prof Peter Oti, Dan Obi and Ugba Murphy as Special Advisers Obudu Ranch Resort, Non-Indigene, Media and Publicity, Legal, Economic Matters, Youth Mobilisation, and Skills Acquisition, Assembly Liaison, Political Affairs and Sports Development respectively.
This is the second batch of major appointments barely nine months into office.
The list is a blend of party loyalists, academics, professionals, former House of Assembly members, former Ayade aides, non-indigene, youths, and women groups as well as cutting across all the 18 local governemnt areas.
There has been calls by stakeholders on the need to expand the scope of governance to accommodate some party faithful who contributed to the emergence of the current administration.
Otu had, during the APC stakeholders' meeting held at CCIC Calabar at the weekend, promised to start gradual release of political appointees on Tuesday and at the early hours of Wednesday released the list of 38 Special Advisers
Sources close to government House told THE BEAGLE NEWS that more names would soon be released.
Otu had also promised that he would run a small government because of paucity of funds but create an enabling economic environment to accommodate those that would not be in government to engage in various skills acquisition, small scale business and agriculture to earn a living rather than depending sole on government patronage.
