he Cross River State Chairman of All Progressive Congress APC, Mr. Alphonsus Eba Esq has chide members of the APC who failed to win their polling units for the APC for daring to expect political appointments under the present administration in the state after betraying the party at the last elections.
Speaking at a stakeholder’s meeting of the APC in Calabar, Eba stated that “those who engaged in anti-party activities during the elections thereby betraying the trust reposed in them by the party won't be getting anything"
He however implored party faithfuls to remain calm assuring that he is committed and working tirelessly to ensure that loyal party members who worked effectively at their polling units during the last elections are adequately rewarded with appointive positions in government.
Addressing stalwarts of the party comprising elected lawmakers, chapter chairmen and secretaries, held at the party's secretariat early this week, Eba posited that the Governor Otu is poised to "reward hardworking members for their loyalty"
According Mr. Eba, those who engaged themselves in anti-party activities and betrayed the party's trust won't be getting anything as the governor roll out names for appointments.
The party chairman also commended Governor Bassey Otu for the steps he has taken so far with regard to the policies direction in the state.
He applauded the governor's inclusiveness in the appointments adding that with what he has seen so far, "Governor Otu is keeping to the promises during campaign"
In his words “putting in place his principal officers with the guidance of the party and given the fact that those who have been appointed are the people who worked for the party is highly commendable"
Mr. Eba tasked the ward chairmen to go and generate three names from the 196 wards of the state, which should include one woman each and submit to the chapter chairmen for consideration for appointments
The state party chairman stressed that the reason for such measures is to ensure that only those worked for the party be rewarded. Mr. Eba encouraged members to take cooperative advantage in the area of agriculture, assuring them of government supports.
Don't be discouraged if you don't get an appointment for the now, HE Sen. Otu will be appointing people based on the carrying capacity and not on the bases of food on the table. It won't be food on the table this time around, but food for the table says Mr. Alphonsus Eba.
