JUST IN: South-East PDP Issues NWC Ultimatum, Threatens to Dump Party

Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-East have issued a warning to the party’s national leadership, threatening to reconsider their membership if their demands are not met without delay.
The warning was issued on Wednesday during the Zonal Executive Committee (ZEC) meeting of the party held in Enugu.
At the centre of the dispute is the recognition of SKE Ude-Okoye as the National Secretary of the PDP. The South-East leaders demanded his immediate confirmation.
“However, in the event that our position is not promptly implemented by the Party, the South East PDP, as a family, will be compelled to reconsider our relationship with the PDP going forward,” a resolution adopted at the meeting declared.
The resolution was unanimously supported by all speakers at the meeting, including Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah and former National Vice Chairman (South-East) Chief Ali Odefa.
The PDP has been engulfed in a prolonged internal dispute over the position of National Secretary, which has fueled tensions across party ranks.
