Years After, Fmr Senate President, Wayas', Remains For Burial November 30

The remains of the former Senate President of Nigeria, Senator Joseph Wayas, will be laid to rest on November 30, 2024.
Dr. Joseph Wayas passed on in a London hospital on November 30, 2021 and before the remains was flown down to Nigeria in July 2024 three years after.
Briefing newsmen on the obsequies of the late Senator Joseph Wayas, the secretary of the central planning committee of the burial, Dr. Dorn Claimz Enamhe, revealed that the state burial will hold on November 30 at the UJ Esuene Stadium before flying the corpse to his hometown in Basang, Obanliku local government area for funeral rites.
According to the committee, the delay in the burial of the late Senate President was as a result of some unavoidable complications which hindered his corpse being flown to Nigeria from the United Kingdom.
Dr. Enamhe further revealed that all issues hindering the successful burial of the late elder statesman have been resolved hence his burial in November.
The late Dr. Joseph Wayas represented the Nothern senatorial district of Cross River state during the Second Republic from 1979 to 1983 under the platform of the National Party of Nigeria (NPN) where he was elected senate president.
