2023 All African Games: Orok Duke Congratulates Offiong Edem For Winning First Medal For Nigeria

The Chairman Cannan Table Tennis Club Rt. Hon. Orok Duke has congratulated Nigerian Table tennis sensation, Offiong Edem for winning bronze at the 13th edition of the African Games holding in Accra, Ghana.

Edem on Tuesday claimed a bronze medal in the women’s singles event which is the first medal won by Nigeria in the competition.

The table tennis star lost to Dino Meshref of Egypt in their semi-final contest 4-0.

Otu who also doubles as the Chairman of Cross River State Table Tennis Association said Offiong has made not only the country proud but also the state proud at the All African Games.

He added that the tennis star is a proud ambassador of the Cross River State Table Tennis club where she is one of the pioneer members.

Table tennis became the first sport to earn Nigeria a medal among the 25 sports being participated. It can be recalled that Edem also won the bronze medal in the same event in Congo, Brazzaville 4 years ago.
