Sen. Jarigbe Appointed Into 17-Member Governing Council of NILDS

Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, has been appointed as a member of the governing council of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS).
Jarigbe represents the South-South geo-political zone in the Council. The Council has the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, as the Chairman and the Speaker of House of Representatives as Alternate Chairman.
The Governing Council of the Institute is the highest governing organ of the Institute and the principal policy-making arm.
According to the Act setting up the Institute, The Governing Council sets broad policy for the institute; approves annual work programmes and budgets, provides support for research, policy analysis as well as training programmes.
Besides, the Council oversees the recruitment and appointment of key management staff, financial and other policy oversight of the institute.
