18-year-old Boy Impregnates 10 Girls in Anambra
In Anambra State, an 18-year-old boy has reportedly impregnated at least 10 girls, leading to widespread concern and a call for public advice from the state government.
Accordong to Daily Post, the State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Ify Obinabo, shared the shocking development in a video posted on social media. She stated that the case was reported to her office on Tuesday by the boy’s mother, who appeared deeply troubled by the situation.
Obinabo explained that the teenager had initially been sent to learn a trade, but within three months, he impregnated both his boss’s daughter and the salesgirl. As a result, his apprenticeship was terminated and he was sent back to his village. Within just two months of his return, he was said to have impregnated eight more girls from the community.
The commissioner reported that the boy’s mother described living in fear, as she became anxious whenever any girl approached their home. She was said to have pleaded for urgent intervention, admitting she could no longer cope.
Obinabo told the public that the situation had become overwhelming and that she was seeking advice because the matter was beyond what she could handle alone. She questioned whether the issue might have a spiritual cause, noting that the number of girls involved and the boy’s age made it particularly alarming.
When asked how he managed to lure so many girls, the boy allegedly said he often expressed love to them and promised marriage once he became financially successful.
Obinabo did not reveal the identity of the boy, his mother, or the name of the village, but emphasized the need for urgent solutions. She said she was concerned and needed help from the public to find a way forward.
