NEMA Reports: 315,762 Persons Affected, 40,493 Houses Damaged in Nigeria Floods

National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has revealed that no fewer than 231 Nigerians were killed while 114 others were declared missing following the ravaging flood which affected 86 Local Government Areas across 25 States of the Federation this year.
The statistics on the affected States as captured in the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) 2025 Flood Dashboard, further indicated that 315,762 persons were affected by the flood within the period under review.
The dashboard also showed that 113,367 persons were displaced while 607 persons sustained various degree of injuries.
No fewer than 40,493 houses were affected across the 86 Local Government Areas.
Breakdown of the affected persons showed that 60,408 men, 100,079 Women, 163,683 Children, 11,592 Elderly and 2,265 Disabled persons were affected by the flood.
The dashboard further showed that Lagos State was most impacted with 52,013 persons, followed by Adamawa State with 51,713 persons, while 46,233 persons impacted in Adamawa State.
Other impacted States are: Imo – 29,242 persons; Taraba State – 26,722 persons; Rivers State – 22,345 persons; Delta – 14,057; Abia State – 11,907 persons; Borno State – 8,164 persons and Kaduna State – 7,334 persons, respectively.
