JUST IN: Nigerian Army Thwarts Kidnap Attempt on School Children in Cross River

The Nigerian Army has foiled an attempted kidnapping of school children by suspected Fulani herdsmen at a Community Primary School in Ijibor, Bekwarra Local Government Area of Cross River State. 

According to an eyewitness, the herdsmen were seen gathering the children within the school premises before a teacher quickly alerted nearby army personnel who were manning a checkpoint, who quickly intervened and chased the suspects into the bush.

As at the time of filing this report, no official arrests have been made in connection with the attempted kidnapping in Ijibor.
