JUST IN: NERD Exempts 2025 Batch C Prospective Corps Members from Online Thesis Upload Requirement

The National Secretariat of the Nigeria Education Repository and Databank (NERD) has announced that the 2025 Batch C prospective National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members have been exempted from uploading their thesis or project work online as part of the mobilisation requirements.
In a public statement released on Friday, October 17, 2025, NERD explained that the exemption follows a decision made in collaboration with the NYSC and other relevant agencies. The statement noted that the measure is aimed at easing the transition process for students whose mobilisation began before the enforcement of the new Federal Government directive.
According to the statement, “NERD, in collaboration with the NYSC and other relevant agencies, has agreed to relax stringent measures for the 2025 Batch C prospective Corps members. This decision recognises that these students fall within the transitional period and their mobilisation processes had started before the deadline set by the new Federal Government directive.”
However, NERD clarified that the mandatory compliance with its new data policy applies to all graduating students preparing for NYSC mobilisation after the Federal Government’s enforcement date of October 6, 2025.
This means that from the January/February 2026 NYSC batches onwards, all prospective Corps members will be required to upload their final year thesis or project on the NERD platform before mobilisation.
