JAMB Fixes June 13 for 2026 UTME Mop-Up Examination
By Benjamin GBOR
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced that the mop-up exercise for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will take place on June 13, 2026.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by the board’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin. According to the statement, the exercise was scheduled for candidates who were unable to participate in the main examination held between April 16 and 23 due to technical glitches, examination malpractice issues, and biometric verification challenges.
The board explained that only candidates who were duly verified but could not sit for the exam for various reasons will be eligible for the mop-up test.
It described the exercise as the concluding phase of the 2026 UTME process, designed to resolve all outstanding cases involving affected candidates.
According to the statement, candidates are expected to begin printing their examination notification slips from June 6, 2026, and are advised to confirm and familiarise themselves with their assigned centres ahead of the exam date.
JAMB further warned that the mop-up examination represents the final opportunity for candidates, stating that no additional sittings will be granted after the exercise.
