Away from construction, Hensek Energy Limited has officially ventured into the energy sector with the signing of a Gas Sales and Purchase Agreement (GSPA) with NNPC Gas Marketing Limited (NGML) for the development of an 85MMSCF LNG/CNG plant in Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom State.
The agreement, which paves the way for the construction of the plant at Ikpa Ibekwe in Ikot Abasi Local Government Area, was signed by the Chief Executive Officer of Hensek Energy Limited, Engr. (Dr.) Uwem Stephen Okoko, FNSE, and the Managing Director of NNPC Gas Marketing Limited (NGML).
The project, upon completion, will boost gas infrastructure in Ikot Abasi and further position the area as a prime destination for energy and industrial investments.
It also marks a strategic expansion for Hensek Energy Limited as it deepens its footprint in Nigeria's oil and gas value chain.
Ikot Abasi, long regarded as one of Akwa Ibom's industrial hubs, is expected to witness increased economic activities, with the facility set to create opportunities for local businesses and service providers in construction, logistics, maintenance and other ancillary services.
For Engr. Okoko, an indigene of Ikot Abasi, the investment is another major business initiative sited in his home community, reinforcing his commitment to the socio-economic development of the area.
The partnership between Hensek and NGML aligns with ongoing national efforts to expand natural gas utilisation and develop critical infrastructure to meet Nigeria's growing energy needs.
Once completed, the 85MMSCF LNG/CNG plant is expected to enhance energy supply, drive industrialization and contribute significantly to the economic growth of Akwa Ibom State.
