Gov. Otu Appoints Dodoye Arikpo Commissioner, Names DG Infrastructure, SSA Project

Cross River State Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, has approved the appointment of Mr. Dodoye Arikpo as Commissioner, alongside the appointments of Captain Otu Ita Otu as Director-General, Infrastructure, and Mr. Okokon Edem Inyang as Senior Special Adviser on Project Monitoring and Evaluation.
The appointments, which take immediate effect, were announced in a press release dated July 25, 2026, signed by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary and Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Linus Obogo.
According to the statement, the appointments are part of the Governor’s ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across the state.
The statement reads: “The appointments take immediate effect and reflect the Governor’s commitment to strengthening governance through competent leadership, effective infrastructure delivery, and robust project monitoring to accelerate sustainable development across Cross River State.”
With his appointment as Commissioner, Mr. Dodoye Arikpo joins the State Executive Council to support the implementation of government policies and programmes aimed at advancing the administration’s People First agenda.
Similarly, Captain Otu Ita Otu, who until his redeployment served as Special Adviser to the Governor on Marine Services, will now head the state’s infrastructure drive as Director-General, Infrastructure. His appointment is expected to enhance the planning, coordination, and execution of strategic infrastructure projects across Cross River State.
Also appointed is Mr. Okokon Edem Inyang, who assumes office as Senior Special Adviser on Project Monitoring and Evaluation. He is expected to strengthen oversight and evaluation processes to ensure government projects are delivered efficiently, transparently, and in line with established standards.
