God 'll Give My Opponents Heart Attack, Says Wike
Nyesom Wike

Former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has once again stirred controversy with a fiery statement directed at his political opponents.

Speaking at a public gathering in Port Harcourt, Wike said that those who have been plotting against him would not succeed, declaring that divine intervention would bring them down.

“God will give them heart attack. All their plans will fail; By the time they fall, I will be the first to sign their condolence register,” Wike thundered, drawing loud reactions from the crowd.

The former governor, known for his blunt and combative style of politics, did not mince words as he accused his detractors of working tirelessly to undermine his political influence both in Rivers State and at the national level.

Wike, who played a pivotal role in the 2023 general elections, has been at the center of political drama in Rivers State, especially following the prolonged crisis that led to the temporary suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara earlier this year; His comments appear to be a direct response to ongoing rivalries within the state’s political landscape.

Observers say Wike’s latest outburst reflects the deep divisions that remain in Rivers politics despite the recent lifting of the state of emergency imposed by President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

While his supporters cheered the remarks, critics have described them as reckless and unbecoming of a senior public official; Some political analysts also warned that such inflammatory rhetoric could further inflame tensions in a state still recovering from months of instability.

For Wike, however, the message was clear, his political journey is far from over, and he remains determined to confront his opponents head-on.
