From the day you join APC, you have No Issue, Says Otu

Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains Nigeria’s most organized and dependable political platform ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He maintained that the ruling party has the strength to manage defections and accommodate both new and long-time members without losing focus on governance and national development.

The governor made this known while speaking with journalists during the quarterly meeting of the APC Governors’ Forum held in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State.

He said the growing interest of politicians joining the party is a sign of trust in the current administration and its direction for the country’s progress.

According to him, the APC’s stability and leadership qualities have continued to attract more supporters from across the nation.

Governor Otu explained that the party’s increasing popularity is largely due to what he described as the steady and deliberate revival of Nigeria’s economy under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He noted that the president’s economic reforms are beginning to yield visible results and have helped restore confidence among both investors and citizens.

The governor added that the government’s policies are gradually positioning the nation toward sustainable growth.

He also spoke about the internal unity of the APC, stressing that the party is structured to manage diverse interests among its members.

Otu stated that the APC’s strength lies in its inclusiveness and ability to ensure that every member, whether new or old, enjoys equal rights and recognition.

He emphasized that the leadership at various levels understands the importance of maintaining harmony for the collective success of the party.

The Cross River governor assured that the party is not distracted by internal politics but remains focused on governance and delivering meaningful development to Nigerians.

He said the priority of the APC-led government is to fulfill its promises by addressing key sectors such as infrastructure, agriculture, and human capital development.

This, he noted, will continue to distinguish the party as one that prioritizes service to the people.

Otu further stated that the APC Governors’ Forum remains united in supporting the federal government’s agenda and ensuring the success of its policies in all states.

He said the governors are committed to sharing ideas, coordinating developmental strategies, and maintaining a common vision for the country’s advancement.

He reaffirmed that the ruling party will continue to serve as a platform for progress and national unity.

According to him, with commitment, discipline, and shared goals, the APC will remain focused on meeting the expectations of Nigerians ahead of the next general elections.

He said: “From the day you join APC, you have equal rights. The machinery put in place is such that there will be no issue. Our main agenda is not about internal politics but about delivering to Nigerians the dividends of good governance.
