FIFA Set New Rules To Be Used at The World Cup!
By Akpo Esco
The world football governing body FIFA has set New Rules for the game which will become active from the 2026 world cup billed for this summer.
This include:-
1. A substituted player has 10 seconds to leave the pitch. If he takes longer, the incoming player must wait at least 1 minute before stepping on.
2. If a player calls for medical treatment on the field, he’ll have to leave the pitch for one minute (exceptions may apply).
3. If the referee suspects time-wasting on a throw-in or goal kick, a 5 Seconds countdown will begin. If play doesn’t restart in time, possession switches to the other team, or a corner kick is awarded in the case of a delayed goal kick.
4. VAR can now review second yellow cards and corner kick decisions if a clear mistake is spotted.
