Federal Government Withdraws Registration Certificate of National Youth Council of Nigeria

The Federal Ministry of Youth Development has announced the withdrawal of the registration certificate of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
The decision was taken after a comprehensive investigation revealed serial violations of the NYCN Constitution and the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) 2020.
According to the CAC, the withdrawal is pursuant to Sections 8(1)(c) and 8(1)(d) of CAMA 2020, following an 18-year leadership crisis and governance issues within the council.
An Interim Management Committee (IMC) has been constituted to oversee the affairs of the council for one year, effective October 6, 2025.
The Federal Ministry of Youth Development has acknowledged the development and urged stakeholders to cooperate with the IMC in the restructuring process aimed at restoring unity and legitimacy to the NYCN.
