Etung Women Hail Asset Recovery Adviser, Agbor, for Exemplary Grassroots Leadership

The Special Adviser to Governor Bassey Otu on Asset Management and Recovery, Barrister Gilbert Agbor, has received glowing commendations from a foremost Etung socio-political women’s organization, Anakae Etung Ka Arek, for his steadfast support to grassroots development and his inclusive leadership style.

During a visit to Barr. Agbor’s residence in Calabar, the group, led by its President, Lady Bridget Etta, lauded the Adviser for his consistent engagement with the people of Etung and his support for the women group describing him as “a true bridge between government and the people.”

Lady Etta praised Agbor’s humility and accessibility, noting that his leadership has continued to inspire confidence in Governor Otu’s administration. She said his actions have “elicited greater support from Etung people for the government of the day,” and described him in the local dialect as “the eye of the people.”

In appreciation of his contributions to community upliftment, the women presented Barr. Agbor with a framed portrait, symbolizing their recognition of his outstanding service and leadership.

Responding, Barr. Agbor expressed gratitude to the women for their thoughtful gesture, emphasizing that his efforts were simply his “little way of giving back” to society and supporting the administration that entrusted him with a crucial role in state governance.

“I am deeply honored by your visit and recognition,” he said. “Governor Bassey Otu has given me the platform to serve, and I see this as a call to continue doing more for our people, especially at the grassroots.”

He urged the women to continue supporting Governor Otu, whom he described as “a visionary leader steering Cross River State towards a brighter future.” Agbor further stated that the governor’s performance so far justifies the people’s trust and deserves continuity beyond 2027, a sentiment that drew unanimous agreement from the visiting delegation.

Barr. Agbor assured the women of his continued support and reach as they continue to stand firmly behind the Otu-led administration.

The delegation included Lady Bern Joe Ndem Ndifon (Secretary), Lady Mbong Atu Ausaji (Chief Whip), Lady Queen Oru Joe (Welfare Officer), Lady Felicia Obi, Lady Glory Epelle, and LadyRose Ntui.
