After an impressive spell with Palace, Wharton has begun attracting interest from a host of Premier League clubs in recent years. The former Blackburn Rovers man has established himself as a key star for Palace, while also gaining recognition for England, called up to the latest squad by Thomas Tuchel.

Understandably, Oliver Glasner and the club want to keep Wharton at Selhurst Park, and a new contract would aid their efforts to fend off potential interest. It will be interesting to see if Wharton demands a salary increase to stay.
