CROSS RIVER STATE POLICE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE
PUBLIC SAFETY ADVISORY: CROSS RIVER POLICE ISSUES SAFETY ALERT, WARNS RESIDENTS TO AVOID LANDSLIDE-AFFECTED AREAS IN CALABAR*
The Cross River State Police Command wishes to inform members of the public that landslides have occurred at the following locations:
- Anansa Junction Road, between Wapi Junction and the NNS Victory Jetty axis.
- Marina Resort, behind the Government Presidential lodge House, Calabar.
Residents and road users are strongly advised to avoid the affected areas, as they pose a serious risk to life and property. Members of the public are also warned not to troop to the sites out of curiosity or turn the locations into gathering or recreational centres, as this may obstruct emergency response efforts and expose them to unnecessary danger.
Parents and guardians are urged to ensure that children and youths stay away from the affected areas. Motorists should use alternative routes where possible and comply with all traffic and safety directives issued by security and emergency personnel.
The Command appeals to everyone to remain vigilant, cooperate with relevant authorities, and report any emergency or suspicious activity through the appropriate channels.
Stay safe. Your cooperation is essential in protecting lives and property.
