Chairman of the Directorate of Non-Indigenes in the Cross River State All Progressives Congress ( APC) campaign Council, High Chief (Dr.) Masor Elvis, has promised to promote inclusiveness, mutual respect, accountability, and constructive engagement in running the directorate.

Elvis, who commended Cross River Governor for Appointing Him Chairman, Directorate of Non-indigenes, described the appointment as a demonstration of the Governor's recognition of the contributions, relevance, and leadership potential of non-indigenes in the political and developmental affairs of the state.

In a statement following his appointment, the Chairman expressed profound gratitude to the Governor for finding him worthy of the responsibility, adding that every member and community would be encouraged to contribute to the work of the Directorate.

He said the appointment had further strengthened his resolve to contribute meaningfully to the objectives of the Campaign Council through purposeful leadership, strategic mobilisation, and effective engagement with non-indigene communities across the state.

According to him, "non-indigenes remain an integral part of Cross River State's social, economic, cultural, and political landscape, noting that their contributions to the growth and development of the state deserve recognition and inclusive participation."

The newly-appointed Chairman pledged to bring his wealth of experience, leadership capacity, and community engagement skills to bear on the assignment, while working collaboratively with members of the Directorate and other relevant stakeholders to achieve the Council's objectives.

He emphasised that unity, cooperation, discipline, and a shared sense of responsibility would be critical to the success of the Directorate, urging members to put aside personal interests and work collectively towards the realisation of their common goals.

Masor Elvis further assured that his "leadership would promote inclusiveness, mutual respect, accountability, and constructive engagement, adding that every member and community would be encouraged to contribute to the work of the Directorate."

"I, therefore, call on non-indigenes across Cross River State to remain peaceful, united, and actively engaged in the democratic process, stressing the importance of responsible participation and constructive dialogue in advancing the state's collective interests."

He expressed optimism that, with the cooperation of members and the support of relevant stakeholders, the Directorate would effectively fulfil its mandate and contribute to the overall success of the Cross River State Campaign Council.
