The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State has dismissed as fake a purported list circulating ahead of its State Congress scheduled to hold today, March 3, 2026.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, the party clarified that the document in circulation did not emanate from its leadership and should be disregarded in its entirety.
The State Congress is billed for 10:00 a.m. at the U J Esuene Stadium, where delegates and stakeholders are expected to converge for the exercise.
State Publicity Secretary, Hon. Emmanuel Edem Inyang, JP, who signed the statement, described the list as “entirely false and misleading,” alleging that its circulation was a calculated attempt to sow confusion and undermine party unity.
“The Party wishes to categorically state that the said list is entirely false and misleading. It did not emanate from the Party and should be regarded as a deliberate attempt to cause confusion and undermine the integrity and unity of our great Party,” the statement read.
The APC urged members, stakeholders, and the general public to rely only on official communications from the recognized party leadership and ignore unauthorised materials.
Reaffirming its commitment to internal democracy and due process, the party assured that the State Congress would be conducted in accordance with laid-down guidelines, emphasizing its resolve to maintain transparency, order, and unity throughout the exercise.
