C'River APC Ward Congresses Lauded as Model of Internal Cohesion

The Chairman of the National Committee of the All Progressives Congress overseeing Ward and Local Government Congresses in Cross River State, Samuel Yarnap, has commended party members for the peaceful and well-coordinated conduct of the exercises across the state.

Speaking during visits to selected local government areas, Yarnap praised the members for demonstrating cohesion, harmony, and internal democracy. He said, “The consensus and affirmation arrangements observed in these congresses reflect the unity within the party and the culture of peace and cordiality for which Cross River State is widely respected.”

He added, “I am impressed with the organization and the orderly manner in which the congresses were conducted. Cross River is setting a benchmark as one of the best organized in the country, and I am confident it will stand out among states with the most peaceful and rancour free congresses nationwide.”

Yarnap urged party faithful to sustain the current unity and momentum as preparations build toward the 2027 general elections. He emphasized, “While differences may occur within the party, members must continue to see themselves as one family and work together toward common goals.”

He also warned against actions that could create divisions within the party, advising, “Do not allow opposition elements to infiltrate and destabilize the APC structure in the state.” Yarnap reassured stakeholders that President Bola Tinubu and Governor Bassey Otu remain committed to the welfare of party members and are determined to leave lasting legacies.

Speaking on the outcomes, the Chairman of Calabar Municipality, Apostle James Anam, said, “The peaceful conduct of the congresses is a testament to the leadership of the governor and the party hierarchy in the state.”

The monitoring team, which included the State Chapter Chairman, Ntufam Ekuk Ojong, visited several wards in the local government areas to ensure transparency and proper conduct of the congresses.

Commenting further, the APC Special Leader of Ward 4 Calabar South, Chief Koko Henshaw, attributed the hitch free exercise to the atmosphere of peace, unity, and shared sense of purpose fostered by Governor Bassey Otu. He said, “The governor’s inclusive leadership style has strengthened internal cohesion within the party and created a conducive environment for smooth and rancour free political processes across the state.”
