By Judex OKORO

Mr Venatius Ikem, says that the Cross River chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Barr. Venatius Ikem, has stated that the party is presently undergoing repositioning to find it way back of winning future elections in the state.

This is contained in a communique issued after the stakeholders' meeting held in Calabar at the weekend.

In the communique signed by Vena, he said the repositioning was occasioned by the recent defection of its representatives in the National Assembly (NASS), as well as the crisis that engulfed the party following the recently concluded congresses.

Ikem noted that in spite of these seeming challenges, members of the party remain resolute and united for a stronger and better PDP in Cross River.

The chairman explained that stakeholders' meeting of the state chapter of the PDP affirmed that the party remained strong in Cross River.

'We commend the members for the unity displays at the stakeholders' meeting, which he said involved notable names such as the party’s governorship candidate in 2023, Sen. Sandy Onor, and the former deputy governor, Efiok Cobham.

"The meeting reaffirmed the unwavering dedication of all members to the rebuilding of the PDP. Stakeholders pledged to remain steadfast in the pursuit of party unity and renewal.

"Assiduous Reconciliation Efforts - recognizing the existence of factional tensions at the national level, we have resolve to work assiduously toward reconciling the warring factions.

"The BOT representative of Cross River assured members of ongoing efforts to facilitate dialogue and restore cohesion.

"Participants at the meeting underscored that the PDP remains strong at the grassroots. The vibrant support from the base continues to serve as the foundation upon which the party’s resurgence will be built.

"With collective hope and faith, the stakeholders expressed confidence that the PDP will recover and emerge stronger.
