C' River Businessmen Pledge to Mobilize Over 10,000 Votes For Otu/Tinubu
The Cross River State Businessmen’s Forum (CRBF) has said it would mobilize its over 10,000 members across the state and in the diaspora to deliver bloc votes for the Governor, the President, and APC candidates at the National and State Assembly levels.
In a statement signed by its President, High Chief Henry Onwe, the Forum commended Governor Bassey Otu for reducing the state’s domestic debt and improving the business environment.
They explained that the state’s domestic debt stock dropped from N220.2 billion in December 2023 to N132.3 billion as at Q1 2026, representing a reduction of N71.7 billion.
The forum described the development as a result of efficient financial engineering, fiscal discipline, and strategic leadership by the Otu administration which they say deserves to continue beyond 2027.
According to the Forum, the heavy debt burden inherited in 2023 constrained commercial activities, tied up allocations in debt servicing, and weakened investor confidence.
“Before Governor Otu’s administration, the business landscape was uncertain. Today, we are seeing improved confidence and opportunities for growth,” the statement read.
The forum said the debt reduction would boost the state’s image, free up more funds for projects, and encourage investors.
The Businessmen’s Forum also threw its weight behind Governor Otu for a second term, and pledged support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
“For a Governor who has delivered in infrastructure, human capital development, and wealth creation, he deserves our total support".
“We are known as a people who reason and act together, and the coming election is an opportunity to demonstrate that” Onwe said.
The Forum said it would mobilize its over 10,000 members across the state and in the diaspora to deliver bloc votes for the Governor, the President, and APC candidates at the National and State Assembly levels.
It urged Cross Riverians to support excellence, hard work and goodwill by backing Senator Otu for another term in office.
