By Bassey BASSEY

The Forum of Local Government Chairmen (FOLGC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River has hailed Governor Bassey Otu for prompt intervention in the internal party crisis.

The Forum also restated its commitment to support programmes and policies of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Bassey Otu.

In a statement made available to THE BEAGLE NEWS on Saturday in Calabar, the forum chairman, Chief Kelvin Njong, said the Governor has demonstrated that he is a father to all, shown wisdom and leadership by listening to their complaints and promising to looking into them with a view to resolving them as quickly as possible.

According to him, "this goes to show that the governor is doing everything possible to ensure that the APC goes into the 2027 elections as a more united body.

"I, therefore, call on our members and all party stakeholders to join the Governor in repositioning our party and give it a new lease of life.

"The President and Governor needed an atmosphere of peace for them to succeed and that is why we want quality leadership at all levels of party structures

According to him, "As a forum, we utilised all available channels to ensure that the crisis was averted but to no avail.

"APC remains the biggest party today in Africa, and we must continue to nurture it to remain so.

"We must, however, take into account that all members have their winning rights and privileges, and we must ensure that it is not trampled upon in the course of running the party'," Njong further stated.
