BREAKING NEWS: Power Outage as National Grid Collapses

Nigeria's national grid has collapsed leading to power outage across the whole country.
According to recent reports, the grid collapsed on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, causing widespread power outages across the country.
The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) in a statement has confirmed the incident, stating that the blackout resulted from a loss of supply from the national grid at 11:23 am on Wednesday September 10. Power generation plummeted from 2,917.83 megawatts to just 1.5 megawatts between 11:00 am and 12:00 pm they said
Also confirming the collapse, the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHED) has disclosed that outage is currently being experienced in all its franchise due to loss if supply for the transmission station.
"Currently there is no supply in Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Bayelsa and Rivers state" they said.
The distribution companies however assured that they are working to restore power as soon as the grid is stabilized.
