Ironbar Pays Tribute to Imoke at 65

The Chief of Staff to the Governor of Cross River, Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar, has extolled the leadership qualities and enduring contributions of former governor, Senator Liyel Imoke, as he marks his 65th birthday.
In a congratulatory message issued to commemorate the occasion, Ironbar described Imoke as a seasoned statesman whose years in public service have continued to shape the political and developmental trajectory of Cross River.
He noted that the former governor's diamond jubilee provides an opportunity to reflect on a legacy built on dedicated service, strong institutions and people oriented governance.
Ironbar said Imoke's public service journey, from his early days in the Senate to his appointment as a minister and later his election as governor, exemplifies patriotism and a steadfast commitment to the welfare of the people.
According to him, the former governor belongs to a class of leaders whose influence extends beyond their years in office, owing to their investments in institutional growth and sustainable development.
He lauded Imoke's efforts in promoting rural development, stressing that his administration prioritised the expansion of primary healthcare services, construction of road infrastructure and the extension of government presence to underserved communities across the state.
The Chief of Staff observed that the policies and programmes introduced under the Imoke administration remain enduring reminders of visionary leadership founded on compassion, inclusiveness and social equity.
